Thursday, June 16, the members of the Saucon Valley Education Association voted on and approved a proposal to the School District that would freeze their 2012-13 salaries and benefits at 2011-12 levels with raises for additional education credits to be deferred until the 2013-14 school year. In an effort to insure the high academic standards of the District and class sizes more conducive to the educational process, the Association has asked the District to guarantee that no positions or programs be cut during that time except through retirement or resignation. The Association is hopeful that the School Board directors will join with them and ratify this proposal that is both fiscally responsible and in the best interest of the students of the Saucon Valley School District.
